JUBAIL MOSQUE
KSA
Commissioned as a gift to the community by the family of a distinguished client in a new area in Jubail, it consists of the main mosque building and houses for the imam and the muezzin.
The plan reflects the requirement that such buildings should be orientated toward mecca while at the same time it is built on a plot which invariably is not. The perimeter wall was conceived as a perforated skin, with the poché spaces between it and the actual mosque forming gardens and a courtyard. It is an all white building with a side lit dome. The courtyard is screened off with a perforated metal brass screen.
